If I export FBX, from iClone to 3DS Max or Unreal Engine, the imported figure comes in with materials.

It is basically spitting out a 2d poly plane and then uv mapping that object in this firs initial test.Īll of my work tests are in this zip for you to review.

#Import animation fbx unity pro
The animation sequence did not seem to run in a 3d package that read FBX or in Unity 4.6.1 Free ( In case you didn't have Pro ) So It appears there is a lot to answer in this and I made a test for you with notes. Sorry about that delay, some guy in a red suit tried to break into our place. I'm just trying to use AS more developed tool suite to make my animations better. I have all this working with Unity's animation tools. My character also has a rigidbody attached so I can use the physics engine. I can do my melee combat with the colliders and I'm not relying on raycasting when characters fight. I initially used unity's built in animation tools which aren't as robust as AS but I was able to take a character made up of several sprites with individual colliders on it. I could very well be doing something wrong. I'm mainly a coder and this is my first time working with art and animation so it's definitely out of my wheelhouse. When I import a rigged character with bones it imports all the layers jumbled and I have to re-align them manually. I imported a character that didn't have bones and it worked after I changed the shader to "sprite" and added sorting layers and adjusted the layer order.

The smaller value you use - the higher precision you get. Thanks for the reply! I'm using Unity 4.6 and importing the fbx into an existing project. The smaller value you use - the higher precision you get.ĭefines how much scale curves should be reduced. The smaller value you use - the higher precision you get.ĭefines how much position curves should be reduced. Animation game assets for UE4 (Unreal Engine) & UNITY 3D FBX (Maya). I import the FBX as humanoid rig - everything is fine.No Umotion:When I play the animation in Unity. In the Inspector panel, lets begin with the Model tab. Work with your own 3D virtual set, Import your FBX into Vset3D Show. Each FBX has been exported together with its model. These options are available only when keyframe reduction or Optimal compression is enabled.ĭefines how much rotation curves should be reduced. From the FBX folder in your Assets directory, select the FBX file you just imported. If selected, the Animation Compression Errors options are displayed. This affects only file size - the runtime memory size is the same as Keyframe Reduction. Reduces keyframes on import and compresses keyframes when storing animations in files. It is generally not advisable to use this option - if you need higher precision animation, you should enable keyframe reduction and lower allowed Animation Compression Error values instead. This means that Unity doesn’t reduce keyframe count on import, which leads to the highest precision animations, but slower performance and bigger file and runtime memory size.

The type of compression that will be applied to this mesh’s animation(s)ĭisables animation compression. This option is available only for Maya, 3dsMax and Cinema4D files. Unity will convert to forward kinematics on import. Enable this when using IK or simulation in your animation package.
